Fink

Fink is a leather maker and fellow adventurer from Geelong. Between visits to some of the inspiring destinations of his region I was lucky enough to spend some time in his workshop while he crafted some quality leather goods for my travels.

One of my favourite things about capturing makers immersed in their work is the details. It’s the little things that make our process our own and our creations an extension of our passion for the craft.

Frank

Frank Douglas hand carves custom made rocking horses with attention to detail and a whole lot of elbow grease. Although the manual process may be slightly more work he prefers the hands on approach to using power tools. The peace and quiet makes the process more enjoyable and leaves a little less mess around the workshop.

If you’re lucky enough to come across one of Frank’s stable in a few hundred years, after father time has taken his toll, you may be lucky enough to find a secret time capsuled message from Frank sealed inside.

1979 DOCUMENTARY

Documentary stills for the film 1979 – Early Australian Skateboarding.

The film follows Newcastle-based skateboarder and filmmaker, Tahnee Sams, as he meets and skates with Australia’s first ever skateboarding champion (1979), Robert “Wedge” Francis.

These stills are heavily featured throughout the film to compliment the motion captured in tandem throughout the film making process.
